Sustainability guides our work. Our products underpin the care of one of the country’s main resources: the soil. By replenishing the fields with nutrients, fertilizers make the land produce more and better food for an ever-growing world population.
In addition, in our production process we always seek to innovate and generate improvements in the use of natural resources. The main investments and agreements in the history of Profertil have been in this regard. Today, in fact, 66% of our production is made with energy from renewable sources.
Since 2014, our commitment to sustainability is embodied in our participation in the United Nations Global Compact, which gives rise to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with concrete targets to be achieved by 2030.
In Profertil, within this framework, we have defined the priority objectives to which we will contribute:
End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture
Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth full and productive employment and decent work for all
Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns
Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts
Achieve gendel equality and empower all women and girls
Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all
Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all
Build resilient infraestructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrilization and foster innovation
Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development
These are 9 of the 17 SDGs proposed by United Nations. Our entire sustainability strategy is aimed at these nine objectives. We define them as priorities because we know that we have much to contribute to create a more sustainable world. In addition, many of our programs and initiatives contribute to other of the 17 ODS.
