UAN 32

UAN is a liquid fertilizer that has operational advantages in terms of speed and timing of application. Suitable for mixing with other liquid fertilizers.

• Low efficiency when sprayed at full coverage, especially in direct sowing or with residues on the surface. Acts better injected between rows with the sowing. It has 50% of N in amidic form (urea), 25% of N as ammonium and 25% of N as nitrate. These components are subject to different types of losses, volatilization for urea, fixation, and absorption by plants for ammonium and leaching and denitrification for nitrate.
• UAN formulations are corrosive to yellow metals. Stainless steel, carbon steel and aluminum are suitable, as are plastics and porcelain.

UAN 32 can be injected into the ground below the surface or belt blasted. It can also be mixed with the irrigation water. If it is intended to be used as foliar, caution should be taken, since it can cause damage to foliage if it is applied directly to some crops, so a previous dilution with water is advisable.
